Tropical isles and zip lines galore await in the Caribbean. The Caribbean is a series of crescent shaped islands that spread out over 2,000 miles in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. The Atlantic Ocean borders some of the islands on the east and north. The islands are 1,200 miles from Florida stretching south east 500 miles along Venezuela, Guyana, and South America. Visitors to the Caribbean can enjoy 7,000 different islands, reefs, cays, and islets many with zip lining.
Depending on where you are from you may call the islands the West Indies. The region offers the Antilles, which is divided into the Greater Antilles and Lesser Antilles. Rainfall in the islands is rather high, which allows the forests to be verdant and warm. It is one of the reasons that the trees grow so tall providing plenty of zip line adventures. Scuba diving is one of the primary reasons visitors are attracted to the Caribbean. Much of the islands are known for their coral reefs, tropical fish, and sea turtles. The right island in the Caribbean can also get one close to the endangered whale sharks. The Puerto Rico trench is the deepest point in the Atlantic Ocean.
The islands have had multiple owners throughout history and still today. Cuba is owned by the Spanish, but Jamaica though independent now has a decidedly French persuasion. In the Lesser Antilles the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands exist. It creates a mixture of cultures in such a tiny space that one can certainly enjoy fine dining from all different countries.
The Caribbean is filled with some of the most beautiful resorts and private vacation homes. Many of the resorts are spa resorts with golf courses, affinity pools, and scuba diving packages. Places like Aruba tend to be party islands, where some of the others are slower in pace with a relaxing beach style. Whether it is a luxury hotel one is looking for or a simple place to lay one’s head at night, it can be found in the Caribbean island. Zip lining could be an everyday adventure before finishing up with a fresh seafood meal, dancing, and a romantic walk on the beach.
